  Job Description : Install, test, maintain, upgrade and administer IFAD’s database management systems, applying patches and ensuring database availability and performance through proactive monitoring, tuning and problem resolution. 
• Develop database documentation, including data standards, procedures, and definitions for the data dictionary (metadata); maintain a detailed inventory of all corporate databases including descriptions, storage usage, location, database engine and other relevant information. 
• Ensure that procedures for data storage, archival, back-up and restore are effectively in place and usable when required; implement the necessary procedures to ensure the integrity and security of IFAD’s databases. 
• Support the middleware platforms that underpin ERP and other in-house developed enterprise applications running on multi-tier configurations; proactively monitor middleware systems, optimizing application performance and keeping availability within target service levels.

Job Purpose:

Provide strategic planning for DBA group, with a primary function of application database construction and design, and provide database administration expertise in managing the general availability of database management systems to the production application environment through highly-complex tuning and database support. Maintain data integrity outside the control of an application and govern security access to sensitive data, along with coordinating that access with the responsible parties within the organization.

Initial Minimum Qualifications:

1. Six (6) or more years of database administration experience or related experience.

1. Act as a team leader in driving technology decisions, devising solutions to complex database problems, and in overall technology planning.

2. Performance tunes both SQL and underlying database components including, but not limited to: disk configuration, access paths, I/O bound analysis, and network contention issues related to data transfer.

3. Perform data modeling, designs and implement physical databases.

4. Communicates regularly with internal technical, applications, and operational staff, as appropriate, in order to ensure the database integrity, security and availability.

5. Provide database capacity analysis, predicting growth trends and forecasting ancillary needs such as disk and backup space allocations along with hardware upgrades where necessary.

6. Implement databases clustered either for performance or failover.

7. Aid development staff in working with other database administrators and lends expertise to external groups building applications.

8. Confer directly with application vendor specialists on procedures specific to the application at hand, and then implements best practices in order to aid vendors in support of their application.

9. Participate in staff rotations of on-call responsibilities.

SAP BUSINESS REPORTING ARCHITECT

 

The SAP Business Reporting Architect has primary responsibility for SAP Business Warehouse support and design.  This will include the development and modification of SAP BW queries Crystal Reports, Xcelsius Analytics to support TheMIGroup Business Unit and Corporate reporting requirements, as well as external client reporting needs.  This includes defining reporting requirements, developing and testing the reports using the SAP BI and BOBJ toolset; providing completed reports directly for self service and identifying data requirements for BW.  You will also be responsible for ensuring appropriate levels of knowledge of SAP CRM and ERP systems as the source of the data for reports.  As a subject matter expert you will be expected to identify opportunities to improve the reporting process.  

 

As the ideal candidate you will have strong SAP systems knowledge and analytical skills with the ability to work in a dynamic work environment.  You will have at least 3 years hands on SAP BW query development experience in support and design, as well as Crystal Reports and Xcelsius development experience in support and design.  You will be client focused with a strong sense of responsiveness to customers needs.  You must have the ability to produce work with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.  You will have excellent web development skills, strong problem solving capabilities with a flexible approach and the ability to exercise initiative and sound judgment.  Strong communication, collaborative and interpersonal skills are a must.
